Just got out of the intial 2 week confinement in P. Tekong. How has it been in there?? Well let me begin from the 1st step onto that island on 21 apr. Took the fastcraft aka ferry to Tekong. Neither my family members accompanied coz they were busy with their agenda. The time I entered the audi for the oath taking, that was the very time where regimentation took place. It definitely brought back memories when I was 'enlisted' to SJI NPCC in y2k. A recruit life's begins, one which is of a lower imptance as compared to a civilian.
BMT aka Basic Military Training, comprised of the necessary skills which a soldier must know at the basic level. Therefore, it's like some military exposure to become a soldier. 2 weeks was a long time to be on island of males, little CV entertainment. Routined lifestyles of exercising, training and improving self discipline, fitness and vigilance. We are well fed there therefore resulting in some to put on weight.
I missed many many things. An alternative meal of pizza or fast food was the 1st thing I missed. Chocolates!! The opportunity to roam freely around and to cool in a quiet environment. The Army is not a quiet place at all... Miss people too... Absence does make one's heart fonder... I believe that...
Enjoyment and waking up everyday at 5 plus in the morning with a bright smile is what I aimed for.
