Guess the most significant thing which happened was that, I became 18!!! Haha the age seem so unreal due to the fact tt I have yet to use the privileges of an 18 yr old. A bday present I got which I would remember in my entire life is that, I got 2 extra legs after "losing" making it me walk on 3s!! You guys will be wondering what the heck I am talking, let me recount what act. happened last friday morning... Here it goes ~~
On the 20th May, it was a bright sunny morning at old NIE sports complex. Yup, it was CJC's Sports' Carnival 05. Yeah, I was tremendously anxious to play floorball, whack the ball and people too... =D Just as I started playing the game after the substituting the team for the second half of our first game, it started... The floor flew to the other court, so I hastily jumped of the barricade made up of tennis court high net. As I landed on both my feet, I felt a twist of the bones at my knee... I could not feel myself, my body felt heavy, I knelt on the ground. Others thought tt i was laughing or fooling arnd (guess i do tt SOMETIMES), I paused for a 5 seconds before shouting "ouch!". I was towed away to the nearest bench... Rested there, and felt tt I was loosing my sight and hearing senses for a while due tt shock... Quite a frightening exp then, coz I thght tt I would just knocked out during tt moment. My classmates and Ms Kohwere frantically communicating with me, trying to get help in the meantime... The help arrived qt late due to some mis comm with the PE Dpt and FA post. I told my classmates to get the stretcher as I knew where it was and was telling Mdm Goh tt it was there all along. Everyone saw me being carried... (quite embarassing.. haha) I was sent out to Mdm Goh's car, where Ms Koh and Eugene accompanied me to TTSH A&E. My mom was call forth too, Ms Fernandez met us at TTSH too. Waited pretty long with my mom for my turn with the doctor after taken a few x rays. The waiting time took almost 2hrs, while at the meantime, I was chatting with my mom, reading the papers, trying to manuveur in my wheelchair. Apparently, something chip off from god knows what, according to tt x-ray. I was given crutches to asst my walking. Ling, Mel, Cla and Ming came over to meet me at TTSH. Haha, so nice of time to asst me and push me to the taxi stand, where a man commented how lucky I was to have 4 ladies assisting me (another embarassment..) Well I had guests at my house together with Lester, Fuzz, TYT, JJ and Joanne. Was watching Star Wars: Return of the Jedi DVD and eating pizza for dinner. Watched I do I do after tt too before sending my visitors home... Haha... It was a pretty warm and touching to have my classmates coming down all the way to cck to pay a visit to this literally lame person (although I am very lame most of the time, this time is for real)
I was really disappointed tt I couldnt watch the latest Star Wars : Revenge of the Sith due to my latest condition... At a point of time, I actually felt really down for I am like this now... I was thinking if I could do what I did last time like running, kayaking, sports or even walking down Orchard Road like every other day.... I was wondering if I could ever shoot properly again, walk properly and be normal again... I kept haunting myself whether I could learn fencing, archery, go travel arnd Asia after my A Lvls... What turn out for me in the army too??? Many reality checks came to my mind, many questions filled my mind, many "Whys" came to me also... Guess I was too pesismisstic then.... But in any other way, I learnt how to say thank you to many people after this accident... Thanks everyone!! Many thanks esp to my class peeps!!
Come to think of how tt little jump triggered such a huge impact on my knee. This leads me to recall what happened last Dec 03. As I can remember, I was at Korea then. Skiing was really fun then, but I had a bad fall which injured my knee too.... I thought everything was okay since then, but that was actually the beginning of everything... I was too careless for not checking with a doc after tt fall coz I thought it was too exp, too troublesome to do so for there was no pain. However little did i know it wasnt subdued...
A sudden flow of sms, msn messages of greetings, thanks everyone!!! I actually received my 1st greeting from Roseline on thursday, 2 days before the actual, when I was accompanying her to kiliney road. The 1st on the actual day was from Theng Theng, the last was from TYT at 11.59 pm. The 1st belated came from Don Koh after 12am. Haha. To think I actually noted this, I must be too free, well yeah guess I am too free la....
Well not to worry, I am recovering pretty fast after my visit to the sinseh on the bday afternoon. Had lunch at IMM and tried the new gadget, PSP which was has realy cool functions and good graphics. I so wanna get my hands on tt PSP!!! Haha, well another day after I find a job after the As and start earning some cash. Meanwhile shall look fwd to my digicam wish!! =D
