Haven't visited my blog for such a long time manx!! Hahax, was kinda busy actually last week with my Chinese and GP Mock Exams. Having the mentality that the school term was about to end, I didnt prepare much for these 2 papers la. I ended having alot of time to sleep during the paper itself too coz I finished it fast!!! I mean fast. Chinese Paper, outta 3 hrs i given i actually had time to sleep for more than an hour. An for GP i had abt an hour outta 3, to catch up on sleep too..
After GP, I set off for home to refresh and get ready to head for Changi Jetty. Met Xiao Wen at CCK station, she was rushing off to Ghim Moh to meet up with her Sec 3s to go Changi Jetty. I met up with Tai at Buona Vista, TH and Ben at City Hall. We were considered earlier than them although we were behind time. Hahax, reached jetty at about 3.30 by cab from Simei. Saw the cadets there getting ready to set off and stuff. Me, Tai and Ben ended up taking the last bump boat to Ubin coz we were waiting for log school to come and transport their stuff. As part of the Admin Team for S3 ATC, I was consider quite late la. Hahax
Cadets didnt do much for Day 1, and they started getting groggy and draggy in their movements. Need to constantly remind them to move faster and all were kinda dead too. Maybe the "ON" NY cadets were not here yet, and there's no SJI peeps too?? hahax. Feel so odd w/o my cadets in their area atc actually. Anyway, took the group B for Breakers!! My other Group Instructor was Xiao Jun who came later. She was my CII during J04 and really has loads of experiences and things to share, also to learn from too. She had different ideas to deal with different problems and situations which convinced me too. This bunch of ppl initially were quite quiet, and buay ON like tt. But thru out the camp I could see a gradual improvement and I was kinda impressed by their performance during the Finale actually. Had a nice time during Campfire as I was singing my heart out and was doing the Line Dancing which Breakers prepared!! Oh yeah Babie!!
During Day 2, it was all the activity cycles which were going on and whole activities for the kids. I took the grps doing Adventure Trg Facilities at Noordin Campsite. They were very privileged to use the high element obstacles which were largely confidence building. Many guys portrayed their cowardly side and whine alot hahax!! The girls were much better actually and didnt complain so much. Had good chat with the Beatty Sec people of Grp F, who were I think Osborne and Pei Xuan. Shared with them their experiences and my experiences which I had as a cadet.
Took Group D for Orienteering. Was with Jian Ming. Grp Dog they call themselves kinda lame actually. =S Anyway, this grp has quite a few outgoing people but also quiet ones. This combi will make a grp, coz u cant have everyone chao ON right? Lost track of some chkpts coz they were shifted and we couldnt find them. Didnt have enough time for all chkpts too, so Jiang Ming and I decided to emphasize on the techniques of orienteering which were more impt for the cadets learning. Was suppose to soak firewood with Tai and Jie Long at 4, but we ended up sleeping till 6. So we were like in a hurry to soak and look for more firewood in case there wasnt enough to spare. Had a tough time then. Mr Chan and HO Alger came in the evening with supplies of packet food!! Had satay for dinner together with my noodles!! Hahax yay!!
Good to try out how Area 15 works in ATC which is different from the exp I had at Area 5. Both were alright but some points outweighed each other. Nevertheless Area 15 now has many new CI faces and 1st timers for ATC which is so crucial for future camps!! With the older CIs leaving like Xiao Jun, Julius and Ta Hoong, guess we gotta now rely on ourselves and pass on the traditions and cultures of our Area!
