Coming to an end, awaiting for a new chapter to Unfold
Been busy with CI BTC lately for the past 2 weeks in PA and Ubin. During course really learnt alot, alot more that I have imagined, be it soft skills like character development and personal improvements to Hard skills like FootDrills, Campcraft all in depth. Can say I have revised most drills and even learnt some new ones too, however there are still some rarely used ones which I did not manage to learn. The interesting parts to drills were Sword and Cane Drills. These 2 items Sword and Cane can be seen as the prestigious and honourable items which a Cadet would love to handle. Thus, path to CI hood allows me to do so.
Campcraft wise, tent pitching was mere revision for me. However attaching Halyard to the flag is something which I havent done before. Thus, I know how to attach the flag up the pole without using a pulley. Orienteering is still quite screwed up for me in both theory and practical. That's one major which I need to practise before conducting lessons on that. Rope Obs was a whole new exp for me, saw HO Alger with the Sec 4s doing it during CCTC this March. This lesson basically is one which is theoratical. Another new and interesting lesson was the Modular Tent. I have only came across Modular tent during this CI BTC!! What's more, my Practical Modular Test was Modular Tent Construction, thus that gives me 2 practices on this lesson.
CI Adventure Training Camp (ATC) was a one exp which I wont forget. Learnt ALOT of new things actually thru this ATC. First was using the Radio Communication Device, next pioneering, Orienteering, Kayaking, Raft Building. I enjoyed the water activities very much, performed 3 capsize during the session, which made me love to capsize somemore!! Was In Charge of Campfire. There were quite a few blunders we made like the fire was far too big in the beginning as it reached 2 storeys high. Also the campfire was said to be not traditional somehow. Will try to take note and stick closely to the Culture of NPCC having a traditional procedure of Campfire. The last moments during break camp was solemn one, many reflections and commendations. Surprisingly, I received a Commendation Collar Pin from Bernice although she wasnt my CII IC for my ATC grp. Sang lots of songs on the way back to mainland. Enjoyed myself with the company of my frens and also finding true friendships too!!
Now that CI BTC is really coming to a close. I cant believe how much I have been thru and how much I have learnt. Hope all these can be put to good use soon. Went to watch Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban with my Bro at CCK Cinema. Yupz, was glad that Dearie managed to go for her trip to Tanjung Piai after the many worries that the immigration officers might not accept her. ^^
